“The minute I learned about Shelter To Soldier, I knew I wanted to be involved and support this most amazing organization.
To me, there is nothing more worthwhile than saving the life of a loving, but helpless dog from a high kill shelter, and training
that dog to be a service companion to a most deserving veteran with irreversible physical and psychological wounds.
I am always proud to say that Shelter to soldier is making a true impact by saving not one, but two precious lives at a time.”
In August of 2015 my several members of my family and I were given a tour of the training facility in Poway, CA.
Annie is a blue/brindle, 1.5 year old pointer/pit bull mix who was rescued from the shelter. They are both in the process of going through the training program and once they graduates, they will be placed as a service dog and loyal companion to an Iraqui War veteran.
Berkeley is a sweet, 1 year old chocolate labrador rescue from San Diego Department of Animal Control shelter in Bonita, CA. Berkeley was one of 22 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation. They are both in the process of going through the training program and once they graduate, they will be placed as a service dog to an Iraqui War veteran. Both dogs that were sponsored by The Charitable Foundation & the Berkshire Hathaway CA Properties Brentwood and Calabasas offices agent donations.
